Unlocking New Integration Possibilities: Introducing Webhooks in Tenovos

At Tenovos, we’re committed to continuously evolving our platform to meet our customers’ dynamic needs. We’re excited to announce the latest enhancement to our Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform: webhooks.

What are Webhooks?

In simple terms, a webhook is like a “messenger” that sends automated messages or information from one application to another when a specific event happens. Think of it as getting a text message notification when a package is delivered to your doorstep.

For example, if an important event occurs in our system—like an asset being deleted, a user changing the security on an asset, or metadata being updated—a webhook can instantly send that information to another application you use, such as your CRM, PIM, or any other software that supports webhooks.

Why Webhooks Matter

No system operates best in isolation. In the fast-paced digital landscape, seamless integration between systems is not just a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Webhooks are a powerful tool that allows different software systems to communicate in real-time, ensuring that your workflows are smooth, efficient, and responsive.

Webhooks & Digital Asset Management (DAM)

With the introduction of webhooks in Tenovos, you can now automate and streamline your digital asset management like never before.

For example, when a new asset is uploaded to the DAM, a webhook can automatically notify a third-party system, such as a content management system (CMS) or a project management tool, to take specific actions, like creating a new content entry with the asset or assigning a task to the creative team.

Whether you’re looking to trigger updates in your project management tools, notify your team about new assets, or integrate with analytics platforms to track asset performance, webhooks make it all possible.

Key Benefits of Webhooks Integration

  • Real-Time Notifications: Stay informed the moment an event occurs in your DAM system. Webhooks provide instant updates to your connected apps, keeping your team agile and informed.
  • Enhanced Workflow Automation: Automate repetitive tasks by triggering specific actions when changes occur in the DAM. For example, automatically notify your content team when new assets are created or publish your marketing assets to external channels based on metadata updates.
  • Seamless Integration: Connect Tenovos with your existing tech stack effortlessly. Webhooks allow for easy integration with a wide range of tools, ensuring that your DAM works in harmony with the rest of your business applications.
  • Scalability and Flexibility: As your business grows, so do your integration needs. Webhooks provide the flexibility to scale your workflows, adapting to new challenges and opportunities without the need for constant manual intervention.

Tenovos Connect customers can now leverage these same webhooks to trigger recipes in real-time. We’ve included several Real Time Triggers in the Tenovos connector to cover most use cases and have also included a “Create Your Own (CYO)” Trigger that allows you to choose from any available webhook event.

For a complete list of available events, please visit our API documentation for Event Types.

Strategic Advantage Through Integration

Incorporating webhooks into Tenovos is part of our broader strategic vision to empower our customers with tools that drive efficiency, agility, and innovation. By enabling real-time, automated communication between your DAM and other systems, webhooks help you unlock the full potential of your digital assets.

This update is not just about adding a new feature—it’s about enhancing the strategic value of your DAM, giving you the tools to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.

Get Started with Webhooks Today

We’re thrilled to bring this powerful capability to Tenovos and can’t wait to see how you leverage webhooks to transform your workflows. For more information on setting up webhooks or to see them in action, visit our documentation or contact our support team.

Introducing Tenovos Connect: One Integration Platform, Endless Possibilities

By Blog
Reading Time: 5 minutes

Today, I’m proud to announce the launch of Tenovos Connect!

Tenovos Connect allows you to integrate the Tenovos DAM into peripheral technologies that support the asset lifecycle. By doing so, assets, data, information, and analytics can pass seamlessly through systems, allowing brands to streamline, automate, and optimize the process of creating, managing, and distributing global content at scale.

For example, do you want to send PIM data to your DAM to enrich assets with product data? No problem

Want to migrate content from DropBox or Google Drive into Tenovos? Easy.

Want Slack notifications when an asset is ready to review? We’ve got you covered.

Why Tenovos Connect?

My colleague Philip Wisniewski recently wrote about the increasing adoption of composable architecture to support today’s modern media supply chain. Global brands want the ability to choose best-of-breed technologies and not be hamstrung by a monolithic suite of tools where costs are high and innovation is questionable.

In my experience, integrations are often overly complex, costly, and riddled with maintenance overhead. Today, I present an alternative where low-maintenance, scalable integrations are far easier to build and maintain. This is the philosophy behind Tenovos Connect.

Our Philosophy

Our customers inspired our approach with Tenovos Connect.

It’s a common occurrence for Tenovos to replace a legacy DAM technology, one that is often heavily customized to a customer’s needs. That’s great to start with, but our clients soon discover that maintaining and evolving that integration is a timely and expensive process.

We wanted something that offers enterprise-grade workflow automation but could be built by technical or non-technical teams to deliver reliable integrations quicker than ever before.

These integrations should scale as our clients scale, shouldn’t have restrictions when it comes to customization, should have complete visibility, and should be low-maintenance.

With this approach, the possibilities are endless. And the best part is, it doesn’t take an army to make it happen.

How Does it Work?

A Tenovos Connect integration enables you to share data between your Tenovos system and one or more external systems.

Each integration includes at least one connector app, a login to that application, and a recipe. An integration can include multiple recipes—workflows of actions that complete a task.

A connector is an application that allows you to connect to an application and use it via its API.

A connection is a login to a connector app that you create specifically for use in your Tenovos Connect integrations. A single connection can be used by multiple recipes.

A recipe is an automated workflow of actions that complete a task. It includes at least one connection to a connector, a single trigger, and one or more actions. A single recipe can include connections to multiple connectors.

A trigger is a single event that initiates the actions in a recipe, occurring in real-time or at scheduled intervals.

Actions are the individual steps within your workflow that perform a specific task. Actions can also be logical conditions and operations such as an IF condition, text parsing, and more. An action is carried out when a trigger occurs.

A job is the entire flow of running the whole recipe.

Here is a simple example of how a Tenovos Connect integration works using these definitions:

We’re using our Tenovos connector with the popular messaging platform Slack, which also has a connector. We have established a connection to each one by authenticating with our Tenovos and Slack credentials.

In this recipe, we establish a trigger for a new asset being uploaded into Tenovos, which in turn performs an action of sending a Slack notification to a user. This entire example is the job.

This example with Slack is just one demonstration of our Tenovos connector—explore more possibilities here.
